Board of Directors

Kathryn (“Katie”) Sevcik joined the Equiniti Trust Company Board in 2017 from Wells Fargo Shareowner Services, where she was senior vice president and head of Shareowner Services’ Operations. Katie joined Wells Fargo in 1992 and held a number of senior positions across the Bank before moving to Shareowner Services in 1997 where she played a key role in the development of the Direct Registration System (DRS), chairing the industry DRS Guidelines Committee that determined best practice. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota.

Katie serves as a co-chair of Securities Transfer Association (STA) Operations Processing Committee; director of Shareholder Services Association (SSA); director of Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) Corporate Actions Society.  Katie serves on the Thrivent Community Advisory Board – East Metro and is a Twin Cities Part-time Processionals Association charter member.

Andrew Peeler joined the Group as Chief Financial Officer on Aug. 1, 2021.  Andrew is an experienced CFO with a track record of national and international delivery in blue chip companies including Unilever, Cadbury Schweppes, Premier Foods, Bupa, and most recently as Group CFO at Mitie Plc.

Andrew is director and chair of the Finance Committee of Fair Finance, a leading micro finance social enterprise. He is a qualified Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Dannette Smith is secretary to the Board of Directors of UnitedHealth Group Incorporated, responsible for supporting the Board and its standing committees. She joined UnitedHealth Group in June 2004 and was appointed to the EQ Board in August 2017.

Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Dannette was a partner in the corporate department of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, practicing in the areas of corporate securities law, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. She is a member of the bar in the states of Minnesota and New York, and has served as a panelist for various professional associations on corporate governance issues. Danette received her bachelor's degree, cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.

Bruce Helsel joined our Board as a non-executive director in August 2017. He served as head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Wells Fargo & Company until 2015, overseeing the acquisition of more than 60 companies including Wachovia National Bank in 2008.

Bruce has held a range of other executive positions at Northwest Corporation and within Wells Fargo Wholesale Banking Division, and has acquired a broad range of skills from positions held in commercial banking, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate strategy. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from The George Washington University.

He is currently the managing partner of the Canadian Basketball League in Toronto, Canada.

Michael O’Donnell is president of CDHA Management, LLC, and joined EQ’s Board as a non-executive director in August 2017. Over the last 30 years, Michael has held CEO and senior leadership positions across multiple industries, including financial services, information technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, consumer goods, staffing, and public accounting. With nearly 20 years of experience working for private equity portfolio companies, he is recognized for his strategic guidance and ability to translate vision into action. Michael has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Saint Francis University and is a qualified CPA.
